Expansion and Factorisation of Quadratic Expressions
It is an expression which can be expressed in the general form :

where a, b and c are constants and a ≠ 0, is called a quadratic equation in one unknown x.

Expansion means removing the ( ).in Algebra, putting two things next to each other usually means to multiply.
so 2(a+b) means to multiply 2 by (a+b).

Factorising is the process of finding the factors.It is like "splitting" an expression into a multiplication of simpler expressions.
We can use a MULTIPLICATION FRAME to factorise quadratic expressions.

After understanding expansion and factorisation, we know that both of them are not the same. Expansion is the opposite of factorisation while factorisation is the opposite of expansion.
Expansion and factorisation of Quadratic Expressions wasn't much of an obstacle for me when we first started out, however, the questions started becoming harder and trickier, but after much practice, i am much more more confident that I will be able to overcome the harder questions!
